I am online - I can go to SWG, EQ, Entropia or SL. I have choices. I don't see how having such choices in SL will "kill the platform"; after all, a platform leaves room for almost anything - there's Flash games... then there's Flash websites... then there's Flash artwork and movies...

People keep clamoring to "expand the world of SL" so I don't see the problem with having gaming elements in SL, any more than I see a problem with live music performance, ballet, taiko drumming, Hunts, sailing or any of the other activities I can choose to participate in in SL.

There used to be a huge RP/Fragfest community in SL, ding some really interesting things; the nerfing of many elements kinda killed that, but those people were a huge market segment for clothes, weapons, scripts, effects... and if you didn't know they were there, they didn't affect you at all.

One reason I am hopefully optimistic about Mr Humble is that to be a successful large MMORPG takes as much commitment and effort in community-making as it does in game mechanics, and I think SL could use a good dose of this kind of thing.Miso Susanowahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14628657533849686313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-944516208447810948.post-26980000763114628902010-12-31T14:32:33.535-05:002010-12-31T14:32:33.535-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Semajhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11412709237182519406noreply@blogger.com
